Install the developer package

This package is available for manual installation in Chrome and compatible Chromium browsers. It has not been published to a browser extension store.

  1. Download and extract the ZIP.
  2. Open your browser’s extension manager and enable Developer mode.
  3. Choose Load unpacked and select the extracted folder containing manifest.json.
  4. Pin CounterNest, open it, and enter your public counter IDs.

Permissions and privacy

The extension stores your selected IDs locally and requests their public counts from CounterNest about once per minute. It does not read browsing history, inject scripts into visited pages or request your password. The optional IP lookup contacts CounterNest only when you click its button. Browser sleep or network failures can delay updates; the last-check time remains visible.

The toolbar badge shows the first selected counter. Private counters are not exposed through the extension API.
